New positions will be announced as they become available
There are currently no open positions. Our recently funded Postdoc and PhD positions have been filled. New openings will be announced here as soon as they become available.
We welcome visiting researchers, student exchanges, and new collaborations
We welcome visiting researchers and students from partner institutions for short- or long-term exchanges. Exchange visits can focus on genomics, phenomics, bioinformatics, or gene editing. Funding may be available through Erasmus+, EEA grants, or bilateral agreements.
We are always interested in new research collaborations, both nationally and internationally. If your work aligns with our focus areas — nitrogen use efficiency, genomic selection, phenomics, AI/ML, or functional genomics — we would love to hear from you.
Available thesis projects for MSc students at NMBU
Develop and train machine learning models to predict crude protein content in perennial ryegrass (Lolium perenne L.) using drone-acquired multispectral and hyperspectral images from field trials. Involves image processing, deep learning model development, and field work.
Explore how integrating genomic markers with transcriptomic and phenomic data can improve prediction accuracy for complex traits in forage grasses. Computational project using R/Python.
Conduct a genome-wide association study to identify genetic markers associated with nitrogen use efficiency and related traits in a diverse panel of timothy (Phleum pratense) accessions.
We welcome inquiries about exchanges, collaborations, and future opportunities. Send us an email with your background and research interests.
